Erich Tisch received a BA in Music from Tufts University in 2004 with his principle instrument as the violin. He then pursued the craft of violin making and repair attending the UNH Violin Craftsmanship Institute and working with Jim Robinson of Renaissance Strings in Nottingham NH. Today he works part-time with Francis Morris, of Francis Morris Violins in Egremont MA, primarily on cello restoration while attending the Tufts Masters Program in Mechanical Engineering with a research focus on Acoustics. In addition Erich is rebuilding and expanding the Music Engineering Program at Tufts with the intent on making it further multi-disciplined. Erich also plays both violin and guitar in several groups professionally in the Boston area.

Chip Jones received both his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Tufts University. After completing his graduate thesis on the acoustic effect of cryogenically treating trumpets, he took a position at Boston Acoustics as a Systems Test Engineer. He then returned to Tufts to work as the Director of the Musical Instrument Engineering Program for several years. In this capacity he initiated and mentored research projects, recruited students into the program, as well as taught courses on Musical Instrument Engineering. In the past, Chip also worked as a recording engineer and a professional musician.
